Minutes for the Meeting of  May, 5th, 2010

The meeting was called to order after 7:00 by President John Nedoba.

The minutes from the April meeting were read.

Roll call was taken. There were 12 members present. There were 3 guests: John's wife and daughter and Chuck's wife.

Ron reported that we paid $92 to AMA this month.

Our current balance is 1370.18 plus one new membership tonight.

 OLD BUSINESS:

We need to get some volunteers to help mow, dump trash, and other field maintenance items.    Dick has made up a sign up sheet and passed it to the members present to sign up for when they would like to mow the grass and other such maintenance items.  We will post the list on the building this spring.  Anyone else who would like to volunteer, please contact Dick Klass so he can add you to the list.

With several planes lost around the field, we had a discussion of having a search party on Sunday May 16th at 11:00.  Please come out and help in this effort, maybe one day it will be your plane we will be looking for.

Bob Christiano has moved to his new home in South Bend.  He has decided to clear out some of his inventory and has donated them to the club to put up for auction/raffle.  Chuck and Will are going to get ahold of Bob and go down to South Bend to pick up items soon.    We are thinking about having a Raffle to coincide with an open house in July.

Dick Mathias asked that we put a “Want Ad” section on our website for people to post things they have for sale, or things they are looking for.  I think that is a good idea.  So if you have some items lying around you’d like to get rid of, email me some pictures, descriptions, etc. and I will post on the website for you.    I will only put up club related items however, so don’t send me stuff on your grandmothers rock collection, and such.

NEW BUSINESS:

John reported that Steve is still at home waiting on a donor.

John posted the new AMA safety rules, and then we reviewed all the safety rules.  Please be sure to always get your frequency pin before you turn on your transmitter.

Please remember also that if you have to go onto neighbors property, you must call him first to ask permission.  His number is posted on shed.

For members who plan to help mow, Dick said to cut on the #1 setting, start in the middle, and then always throw the grass to the outside so that we don't get clumps of grass clippings on the field.

MODEL OF THE MONTH:

Ken brought his new P-38 in for model of the month.  He is having space issues with the electronics and battery and was asking members for ideas.  I put a couple pictures on website.  It's powered by two 450 size motors purchased from King Hobby and uses 1 11v 2300mah lipo.  He wired so motors are counter rotating.

Meeting was adjourned.

                                                   LETS GO FLYING BOYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The boys showed signs of a long winter.  For the most part, the takeoffs and landings were pretty rough.
